Sustainable Extension

An already extended established business premises had outgrown its existing facility and required a new office to be built on its existing forecourt located at a prominent junction. The brief required a modern, sustainable ‘landmark’, with car parking, offices and showrooms within a reasonably tight footprint. A simple concept used concrete and glass to create 3-levels, serviced by a lift and stairs. The raised ground floor was to contain the office, with off street parking at the frontage and rear. The first and second floors were to showcase the office machinery for sale. The circulation core contained within a cylindrical shaft ran up the floors of the building and rested on the rooftop which also featured a pond that was responsible for cooling the building.
