Situated within a busy industrial estate in Wimbledon, this workshop / office required an extension to their existing premises in order to house additional storage goods which were currently stored within old containers, as well as for the secure parking of large vehicles overnight to overcome problems they had faced with vandalism and theft. The proposed design took on a staggered plan and elevation to mimic the existing (and avoiding any potential for hiding places that could be used by vandals), with an uncomplicated roof design that married into the existing roof seamlessly. By using a palette of materials that match the existing, the extension intends to blend into the existing, but as a subservient component to the main building.
