This project was for remodelling and extending an existing 4-bed family home. The property had been purchased with an existing extension which needed altering and further extending to suit the needs of the client. Their brief was for a new family room on the ground floor, and a new master bedroom suite on the first floor. The client also wanted these spaces to maximise the view of hills in the distance and utilise the height between the ground floor and the low level garden to tuck in a new basement with a music room. Various layouts were drafted to address the requirements in different ways. The preferred option relocated the garage with a new utility against it, followed by a new family room incorporating a staircase leading down into the new basement. On the first floor, the existing landing corridor was continued with an extension to an existing bedroom, a new family bathroom and the master suite.
