The brief required a modern ground floor extension to the rear with an open plan kitchen / family space. The house had already been extended on the side of the ground floor, so the new design had to work with the existing to enable a contemporary feature which was created by using a feature glass triangular bay window, and patio doors opening out into the rear garden. A new bedroom suite was also required within the loft space with a suitable access created off the first floor. The spatial quality of the room is light and airy by the use of a full height box dormer to maximise the view of the elevated rear garden.
